Freedom's Cost

Freedom's Cost

Son,
Lest we forget,
Freedom has been very costly
there is always a price to pay
And I'm not speaking of gold and silver
but the lives that have paved the way.
Each life has been given in place of
a freedom we all share
They should be remembered and respected
for they are those who dared
To step out into that storm of life
takes courage beyond compare
I know that I'm just thankful to them
and want to show that I do care.
