Let Freedom ring is the glad refrain
as we prepare to go to war
God gave to us all, Freedom
and to others we implore.
That we live peaceably together
and respect what has gone on before
All the many lives that have been given
we just can not ignore.
What is gained with all this turmoil
all the sadness and the pain
What in Heaven's Name
do we ever expect to gain?
I admit I don't see all the pieces
and certainly don't understand the game
It just seems to me there is such loss
we will never be the same!
