Behold! The Bridegroom Cometh
Painting by Repin

Behold! The Bridegroom Cometh

As June brides ready themselves for their wedding
my mind wanders back in time...
As I think about the bride of Christ
and if we're ready for that time...
When we shall hear that trumpet sound
and behold our bridegroom in the air.
Will we be looking forward and be ready
to go meet Him there?
I cannot fathom His Great Love
and the price He dearly paid
So that I might know He loves me
and the commitment that He made.
He loves me so and my heart is full
when I think of that wedding day
When I shall see my bridegroom and
be joined with Him to stay.

(c) 2004 Karm Langford Brown

Matthew 25:5,6
While the bridegroom tarried,
they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight there was a cry made,
Behold, the bridegroom cometh;
go ye out to meet Him.
