Father, May I?

Vasnetsov Alenushka

Father, May I?

Father, May I come into Your Presence
and sit quietly with Thee?
Will you softly whisper to me
about things that are to be?
Will you touch me very gently
and open up my heart?
So that I may understand Thee
and fulfill my part.
Your Son gave His life for me
and I still openly weep
At the price He dearly paid for me
so that I might reap...
Eternal life in Your great realm
and joy forever more
Father, Thank You for this precious gift
given to all, rich or poor.

I Peter 1:18-19
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not
redeemed with corruptible things, as silver
and gold, from your vain conversation
received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
