Love and Serve

Love and Serve

My heart is steadfast and yearns for You, Lord
and I have been so very blessed
To know and have You walk with me
all these years has been my quest.
Lord, my thoughts are always upon You
as I need Your help to live each day
I grew up in a time where You were honored
but now, many don't want You in the way.

I will make my stand, Lord, may You find me true
there is nothing more important to do...
Than to love and serve and honor Thee
until the day I say adieu.
The beauty of each new day You send
may I bask in its delight
For You have given it unto all
to enjoy and live in Your light.

We have done nothing to deserve it all
and yet You love us still
Thank You for giving unto us Your all
and showing us Your will.
May we have compassion, and love each other
as You would have us do
Thank You, Precious Heavenly Father
for always seeing us through.

(c) 2012 Karen Langford Brown

"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use
your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve
one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a
single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Galatians 5:13,14

"Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am my
servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."
John 12:26
