My Earthly Goal

My Earthly Goal

Rent asunder was the veil
when Christ gave His life for me
So that I may walk in newness of life
for all the world to see.
The things of old passed away
a new covenant did He make
Upon the cruel tree He hung
as the Earth did quake.

New life was promised to one and all
to those who would believe
That, He was the Son of God
eternal life would you receive.
The covering of the blood He shed
cleanses and makes whole
To serve and live each day for Him
is my earthly goal.

(c) 2009 Karen Langford Brown

"But their minds were blinded; for until this day remaineth
the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old
testament; which veil is done away in Christ."
2 Corinthians 3:14

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those
days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts
and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and
iniquities will I remember no more."
Hebrews 10:16,17
