Remembrance

Painting by Frederic Bazille

Remembrance

How easily we forget from whence we came
and how God owns it all.
With our pompous ego we strut about
while God prepares our fall.
Out of His Love He made us
to simply be His friend.
How shabbily we treat Him
the One on whom we all depend.
God, please help me more each day
to show You I truly do care
And Thank You for all the blessings
and the precious moments we do share.
I choose this day to do my very best
to keep my eyes on Thee,
The author and finisher of my faith
there is none other, but Thee.

(c) 2006 Karen Langford Brown

"For all men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the Word of the Lord stands forever."
And this is the word that was preached to you.
I Peter 1:24,25
